I spent in India as part of an exchange semester at the art college in Bangalore (Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology). That’s why the things shown here are mostly sketches and the mural we painted on a surf school in the south of India.
“Mann” and “Frau” (clay, both l=12 cm) are two small sculptures I made spontaneously thinking about Francis Bacons dissolution of the human face and body. The sculptures simultaneously suggest sensuality and brutality.
The paintings I made in this year are influenced by nature and especially by the vineyards where they were painted. I was interested in the brilliant colors that you can find in nature and the slow dissolution into the mind. Oil on canvas
“my mountain made of clay” (length 35cm) is one of the first sculptures I’ve made with clay and it was a sort of “homecoming”. This mountain was modeled after one of the mountains in the “Ötschergebirge”, an area close to my hometown. I’ve always felt connected to mountains, I think they say something about the […]

This was my first solo show in a small space in Vienna. The title refers to the sometimes intangibility of art and the process of art making, and my personal confrontation with it at that time.
I was asked to exhibit in the “Schaufenster Denis”, an off-space that only consists of a shop-window as part of a Kebap-restaurant. The exhibition was part of “MUSAO (Museum auf Abwegen) Grundsteingasse”, a bi-annual festival where the road is closed for traffic and the off-spaces and studios on the street organize exhibitions, performances, concerts and […]
